Hip Hop + Street Dance

Evolving out of the roots of Funk and Jazz, Hip hop was created in the Bronx in New York City by DJ Cool Herc and Africa Bombaataa.  Bringing together the foundational elements of DJ, Breakin, Writing (Graffiti) and Rap this style brought feuding gangs and troubling communities together and helped to change the world through their transformative message and ground-breaking remix of sounds of the past with beats of the future.
